Timing: Please remember the properties often lease their units up to 60 days in advance. The current tenants give a 30-60 day notice to vacate; the property will hold the unit vacant with an approved application for up to two weeks.
Calling the property first: Before embarking on your search for the weekend, make sure to call the communities first to check availability for the time frame in which you are moving. This will save you tons of time and effort! Also, while you are at it, make sure to ask about their current specials!
Unit Specials: Many times an apartment complex holds a special of 1 , 2 , or even 3 months free when they have a low occupancy. They take these months and prorate it over the lease. This can lower your monthly payments down 50 to 200 dollars from their advertised rate. So when I run your search I will usually raise the price range by one of these amounts so you can experience these great benefits if they are available.
Viewing Properties: To view an apartment you must provide a valid government-issued photo I.D.. Be sure to pre-register with the property.
Look and Lease Bonuses: Many properties offer substantial incentives if you lease within 24 hours of your first visit to the property. Always ask if they are offering a look and lease special.
